alright alright – this album was hyped up by my girlfriend quite a bit

that being said, i came into this album being a bit skeptical

i find that whenever someone hypes something up thats just the mindset i find myself in – maybe im just a cringe contrarian who knows

either way, i was pleasantly surprised by this album

i really enjoyed the raw emotion shown in songs like big mikes, rodeo clown, and end of record

the instrumentals were really well done and just the overall feeling of the album was nostalgic and welcoming – it was really easy to get into the vibe of the album, and the more i listened to it the more i found myself enjoying every little crook and cranny of each song

i wasnt a huge fan of the vocals at certain points such at the start of noahs highlight reel – it was too strained for my taste

i was not a fan of the song the dress either; i found it a bit too poppy and it went against idk what i thought made the album so good to begin with

the low key and authentic sound

the album is also extremely short, but it is packed with variety

the variety combined with the length of the album (around 30 minutes) makes it so this album has an insane amount of replay value

god in wilson was by far my favorite song; his voice and the guitar sound just angelic and mesmerizing

i just wish it was a big longer

but you get that feeling with a lot of the songs since 7 out of 12 songs are either at or under 2:30 on one hand that conciseness is what allowed him to have this many songs, but i am left wondering what a longer project would have sounded like

guess we’ll have to wait till his next project but this was an amazing debut

great album 4/5
